Mackenzie Hoy was born and raised in Waseca. When she was in high school, she went to a chiropractor after hurting her back at cheer camp. She was amazed by the body’s ability to get better with adjustments to the spine. Becoming a chiropractor was still nowhere on her radar. She had always wanted to work in a profession that helps people feel better. After failing to get into a nursing program (gasp-who admits their failures these days?) she re evaluated her life and realized she was meant to do something different. She decided to pick a major that would still get her out in 4 years and trusted God would take care of rest. Sometime during her 3rd year of college a chiropractor came to her class to speak about what he does. This was the FIRST TIME Mackenzie was introduced to a holistic model of health. When the doctor said he can tell a lot about a patient’s health by asking about their poop, she was hooked. The rest is history. She found chiropractors in the area to shadow and never looked back. These chiropractors were the first people to tell her the philosophy of chiropractic: The Power that made the body heals the body; When the Nervous System, the master control center for every organ, gland, and tissue in the body, is functioning properly, health just happens. She found Life University and got a big ol’ YES from the Universe. In September of 2015 she packed up her Chevy Cavalier and drove cross country to Marietta, Georgia.
She has a Bachelors of Science from the University Of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She graduated with her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the largest chiropractic school in the world, Life University, in March 2019. During chiropractic school she took many seminars outside of school to expand her knowledge and shadowed as many chiropractors as she could (30+) in the Atlanta metro and Minnesota to pick their brains and see different practice styles. She has trained in pediatrics and sports chiropractic, working under the top Sports and Pediatric chiropractors in Atlanta. She is certified in Webster’s technique for pregnancy and is working towards her certification in pediatrics. Someday she would love to adjust animals as well (one step at a time). Mackenzie firmly believes everyone deserves to be healthy and express their full potential from the time they are born through their last breath of life! Chiropractic care should be incorporated into everyone’s healthy lifestyle routine. Mackenzie is so excited to bring the 100 Year Lifestyle to her hometown community, being Minnesota’s first 100 Year Lifestyle Provider!
She will be accepting patients in May 2019.
When not taking care of patients you can find Mackenzie outside walking a dog, working out at the gym, working on a DIY project, or spending time with her friends and family.
